Crystal Shot Designs started in a pub.
For years, I made T-shirts for a group of friends who followed a certain band. We had a logo, but the slogan changed with every tour—each shirt a little time capsule of inside jokes and shared chaos. Eventually, I realized print-on-demand could do what I couldn’t: deliver reliably, without me lugging a box of tees to the next gig.
The real spark, though? I wanted a Bardcore T-shirt for a medieval fair and couldn’t find one. So I made it. That moment—equal parts frustration and creative impulse—was the beginning.
The name Crystal Shot comes from a lyric: “And the promise, burning brightly / In your crystal-shot eyes.” It stuck. It felt sharp, poetic, and a little haunted—like most of my designs.
I don’t design from trends. I design from feeling. I’m not a happy person, but I am a funny one—dark, sarcastic, and always looking for meaning in the mess. That’s where Crystal Shot lives: in the tension between humor and heaviness, symbolism and subversion.
Some pieces are loud. Some are quiet until they’re not. The I hate people tee, for example—it’s subtle at first glance, then it hits you. That’s the point. These designs are shields, signals, and sometimes just a way to say “I see you” without saying anything at all.
I’m hands-on with everything except drawing—I leave that to our resident art student. But I tweak, refine, and obsess over every detail: the layout, the copy, the code. Inspiration comes from anywhere—a throwaway comment, a slogan on a lorry, a stray thought while running.
Ethics matter. Sustainability matters. I work with suppliers who reduce plastic and use eco-friendlier printing methods. I know cotton doesn’t grow in Europe, but I do what I can. More importantly, Crystal Shot stands for inclusivity, equity, and individuality. Everyone deserves to wear something that feels like them.
This brand is small, intentional, and a little strange. Just how I like it.
